“Do you ever lie awake at night, just between the dark and the morning light? Searching for the things you used to know, looking for the place where the lost things go?”
Having a hard time sleeping lately? Longing for the way things use to be? It seems this piece of music by Marc Shaiman was written for this pandemic chapter of our lives. What are some things you’ve lost?
- Routine? Schedule?
- Freedom to travel to your favorite places?
- Separation between work, home and school?
- Ease of tasks such as grocery shopping?
- A loved one or friend?
- Peace of mind?
There are some who are enjoying this shelter in place time. Yet, for many of us, we have experienced loss and we are not sure where our lost things went!
Last week it was spectacular weather in California. I was longing for the days when I headed out on my bike to a park to do my coaching calls. I intentionally designed my business eight years ago to spend as much time outside as possible. I sit outside for many of my coaching sessions. I longed for working with my National and California State Park clients and their affiliate groups. Social distancing felt like I’d lost the heartbeat of my business. And, I continued to think of this song….
“Do you ever dream or reminisce, wondering where to find what you truly miss? Well, maybe all those things that you love so are waiting in the place where the lost things go….Maybe on the moon or maybe somewhere new, maybe all you’re missing lives inside of you”
It struck me that my longing for my outdoor coaching and trainings was a “lost thing” and that it was still inside me. Just waiting to emerge even in social distancing and economic downturn. Therefore, I’m offering a complimentary 15 minute strengths coaching session to my readers. Let’s look at your lost things together, activate your strengths, and rediscover your lost things.
All you need to participate:
- Your Strengths Finder results (Let me now if you need to take the assessment).
- A commitment to sit outside under a tree, in a garden, or wherever you can find a quiet place outdoors during our call.
Sign up for a complimentary strengths-based coaching session and in the notes just mention you’d like a complimentary 15 minutes session. I’ll send you the calendar tool. Sessions begin May 15 and end May 31, 2020.
Oh, and if you don’t recognize this song, maybe what we need right now is a little Mary Poppins!
