If you were going to pick one thing that brings you joy what would it be? If you were going to spend a day trying to find that thing where would you look? Are you ready to try a treasure hunt for a day.
On Saturday I decided that in the midst of this extreme drought I needed flowers, green, color, and more flowers. I found a map of all the gardens in Golden Gate Park and we set off to find as many flowers as we could. We toured the San Francisco Japanese Garden for green.
The Conservatory of Flower for orchids and water lilies.
The Rose Garden for color.
And the Dahlia Garden for contrasts.
I did find color, green and abundance.
After my treasure hunt I happened to flip open the Mandala Source book I’ve been skimming. I landed on a page that said…”A flower for all seasons….Flowers remind us of the bounty of nature and the passage of time. They blossom and fade, and their value is not compromised by their impermanence…” And, “if we could see the miracle of a single flower, our whole life would change”. Lastly, the final quote, “bread feeds the body, indeed, but flowers feed also the soul”.
I definitely felt like I was filled with the abundance of color, beauty and green. I had been fed. It was just what I needed.
We hear so much about “self care” and wellness this year. How can you incorporate a wellness treasure hunt into your summer plans? Physical, Emotional and Spiritual wellness does not have to be work, it can be joyful exploration.
What’s a treasure hunt you could design for yourself this summer to fill yourself with abundance?
Let me know what you look for, where you go and what you discover about yourself on the journey.
